With a career spanning over a decade, actor Bhanu Uday Goswami believes in constantly challenging himself at every step. The Ludo, Lakshya and Manto actor feels his journey in the industry has been highly elevating.

“I always wanted to be an actor and there were no two ways about it. I am among those actors who believe in performing to my highest ability and take each role as a challenge that I have to win over. That’s how I have been since my very first project that was way back in 2004,” he says.

With his recently released film garnering him rave reviews Goswami adds, “When Bob Biswas was offered, I was thrilled like anything as it was an absolute contrasting character to what I have done in Ludo. It was more fun and the role of Jishu Narang was of a thorough modern-day guy. I remember Sujoy (Ghosh) Da summing it up for me with a simple sentence ‘this guy has complete characteristics of a British’ and that was it for me.”

The suave actor finds it funny to have done back-to-back films with Abhishek Bachchan. “It’s really amusing as none of us had the faintest idea that soon we will be sharing the screen space. In fact, we both discussed it too when we met on the sets of Bob… During the earlier film (Ludo), I remember Jr B telling me ‘arre kitna pitoge tum…’ and when we starting shooting for the latter, I was like see how tables have turned. We both had a hearty laugh together at the change of course.”

Bhanu shares how once he had just given up on a Tv show midway of its shoot. “I was really upset with the way my character was shaping up. I was unable to cope with the stress and I was literally was on the verge of a breakdown. But then I thought over it and eventually realized that if this is acting for me then bring it on! I learnt to accept and give up expectations. But, by God’s grace, things actually took a wonderful turn and substantial roles started to follow,” he says.

The actor waits for the release of a few projects including OTT series Crash Course and wishes that his run of good projects continues in 2022 too.
