Huawei P60 series confirmed to launch globally on May 9: What to expect – Times of India

The Huawei P60 series is going to make its debut on May 9. The series is likely to include the flagship Huawei P60, Huawei P60 Pro, and Huawei P60 Art smartphones, which were recently unveiled in China. The upcoming Huawei P60 series will succeed the Huawei P50 series, which launched in 2021. The company has officially confirmed the arrival of the much-teased series on its Twitter handle. “Mark your calendars this May 9th because we’re dropping our flagship products! Keep your eyes peeled during the HUAWEI P60 Series and Flagship Product Launch. Stay tuned!” the tweet reads.

The Huawei P60 series has been scheduled to launch on May 9 in Munich. Further, the company has also promised that it will showcase its flagship devices during the launch event. While the company is yet to reveal the specifications of its flagship devices, viewers can anticipate seeing the Huawei Mate X3 foldable phone and other wearable devices that includes the Huawei Watch Ultimate and FreeBuds 5.
Huawei P60 series: Expected specifications
Huawei P60 series is said to feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a quad-curve display, supporting 120Hz refresh rate. The display could support 1.07 billion colours and 1440Hz PWM dimming. The Huawei P60 and Huawei P60 Pro are anticipated to share a similar design language with anti-fingerprint feather sand technology and a bright glass finish.
While the Huawei P60 Art could feature some artistic aesthetics, a different camera module and unrestricted lines outlining the shape of the island. Huawei P60 Pro and Huawei P60 Art are likely to come protected with a layer of Kunlun glass.
In terms of processor, all three smartphones are speculated to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G chipset. The trio is expected to come with an IP68 rating and feature a two-way Beidou satellite messaging.
The Huawei P60 is expected to feature a 48MP primary camera with f1.4-f4.0 ten-step variable physical aperture. While the Huawei P60 and Huawei P60 Pro could sport a 13MP ultra-wide lens and the Huawei P60 Art might come equipped with a 40MP ultra-wide lens. The Huawei P60 could also sport a 12MP 5x optical zoom RYYB camera with a 100x zoom range.
Meanwhile, the Huawei P60 Pro and Huawei P60 Art are likely to come with a 48MP super-spotting night vision telephoto camera, which is expected to offer a large f2.1 aperture and three-axis sensor stabilisation. The smartphone would support a 3.5x optical zoom range and a 100x digital zoom range.
The Huawei P60 and Huawei P60 Pro models are expected to be backed by a 4815mAh battery, while the Huawei P60 Art could be powered by a 5100mAh silicon carbon battery. All the three models are speculated to support up to 88W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
