Take inspiration from some of Australia’s best living spaces. Ahead, Penelope Scott finds joy in playing with colour and pattern in her Tudor-style home.
The home
A five-bedroom, 1930s neo-Tudor house in Melbourne’s inner-eastern suburbs.
Who lives here
Interior designer Penelope Scott with husband Andrew Stephens, a corporate taxation manager, their sons Harry and Finn, and My the moodle.
What we did
“We renovated the bathrooms, installed new window furnishings and hung five beautiful wallpapers,” says Penelope. “As a designer, I revelled in the sourcing and selection process.”
Favourite room
“I adore every room, but our bedroom is my favourite,” says Penelope. “I designed it to be a nurturing space and installed the bath from the English Tapware Company.”
The ’hood
“We love our location in a hidden cul de sac, and our friendly, generous, entertaining neighbours,” says Penelope. “As a bonus, I can walk to many of my favourite textile showrooms.”
Future plans
“To simply enjoy our home and host many friends here, now that we can again,” says Penny.
