Hillier, Fox and Alker on the pace at leading tournaments

New Zealand golfers Daniel Hillier, Ryan Fox and Steve Alker are all well-placed for big paydays entering the final round of tournaments in Europe and the United States.

Hillier, 24, is firmly in contention for the biggest win of his career at the KLM Open in the Netherlands sitting just two strokes off the lead in a share of fourth.

The world No 333 shares fourth place in the DP World Tour event after carding a third-round despite a late double-bogey blow on Sunday (NZ time) at the KLM Open in the Netherlands.

The 24-year-old world No 333, a two-time winner on the European second-tier Challenge Tour, is in a tie for fourth, having dropped one place after carding a one-under 71 in his third round.

It could have been even better for Hillier, who double-bogeyed the par-three 17th hole after his tee shot found the water.

Hillier’s eight-under tally is two shy of Spanish leader Pablo Larrazabal.

FOX IN THE USA

Fox is in a share of 16th place at the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas after carding a one-under 69 in his third round.

Sitting on three-under victory appears beyond his reach, with co-leaders Adam Schenk (USA) and Harry Hall (England) both seven shots clear.

ALKER ON THE PACE AGAIN

Alker is typically among the leaders in Texas, on the Senior PGA Championship Tour, although victory appears a stretch.

His three-under 69 third round lifted him to seventh place outright but eight strokes behind leading Irishman Padraig Harrington.
