Here’s why Snapchat is getting more and more negative reviews – Times of India

Last week Snapchat introduced its new AI chatbot– My AI powered by OpenAI‘s ChatGPT technology. Available for all the users now the My AI chatbot of Snapchat can recommend birthday gift ideas for your BFF, plan a hiking trip for a long weekend, suggest a recipe for dinner, or even write a haiku about cheese for your cheddar-obsessed pal. Make My AI your own by giving it a name and customizing the wallpaper for your Chat. However, Snapchat users are not liking this new chatbot.
The users are not giving positive reviews for Snapchat’s ‘My AI’ feature. Pinned on the top of the app, the feature enables users to ask questions and get instant responses. However, soon after its rollout the app has seen an increase in the number of negative reviews. As reported by TechCrunch, the app intelligence firm Sensor Tower has revealed that the average App Store review in the US was 1.67 and about 75% of the reviews has a one-star rating. The report also adds that the number of daily reviews of the app has also increased five times.
TechCrunch also mentions another app data provider called Apptopia which has also reported the same trends. The report also reveals that ‘AI’ was the main keyword in the Snapchat app reviews. On April 20, 2023, the day following the worldwide launch of My AI, Snapchat reportedly received about three times more one-star ratings than its typical volume, as per Apptopia.
Snap‘s decision to incorporate an AI chatbot into its social app may not have been the wisest move. Many Snapchat users are unhappy with the sudden appearance of My AI in their app without any prior notice or consent.
