In the picture that she shared, we could see a bowlful of mixed pulses and dals kept in a bowl. Rujuta Diwekar asked her followers to guess the names of all the pulses in the bowl. “Indian culture has celebrated pulses in various forms – from daily dals to special meals on Navratri as sondals and chana puri halwa. Whatever may be the North-South divide, with pulses, we are all on the same page,” wrote celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar in her post.

As for the health benefits of pulses, the nutritionist revealed that pulses could benefit us in more ways than one.

  3. Did you know that pulses can also help in regulating Hb or haemoglobin? Rujuta Diwekar revealed that pulses may lead to an improvement in the Hb count.
  4. Diabetics, you should take note that pulses may also assist in regulation of blood sugar levels. Further, they promote the feeling of satiety and keep you full for longer.
  5. Rujuta Diwekar revealed that due to their nutritional content, pulses can prompt improvement in skin health, hair health and also help regulate moods.
