Gurugram: Private hospitals to give incentives for fully vaxxed? – ET HealthWorld
“All private hospitals should give incentives to people who are fully vaccinated to motivate others to get the second doses at the earliest. These incentives can be 10% discount on registration fee, easy access to doctors or first OPD free. This can inspire others who are yet to get their second doses,” said chief medical officer Virender Yadav.
The decision was taken during a district task force meeting on Friday. While IAS Medicare Hospital said it will give the first OPD free to fully vaccinated people, other facilities will discuss the matter with their teams first.
Similarly, malls and market areas will also be urged to give incentives to fully vaccinated shoppers. “We will talk to shop owners to give discounts to people who have taken both doses,” Dr Yadav said, adding that they have also asked religious places to promote vaccine awareness through announcements.
The health department also plans to provide school staff with resources for answering general Covid vaccination questions. There are 127 government and 232 private schools in the city. Health officials said it is important for school staff, including teachers and administrators, to know what role they play in Covid vaccine-related communication, education and activities. Schools have been asked to collect information from students about adults at home and the number of doses taken by them.
On Friday, 9,845 people in the 18-44 age group and another 1,467 in the 45-plus category got inoculated. Two healthcare workers and three frontline workers also got jabs. In all, 11,317 doses were administered. On Saturday, 48 government session sites will be set up — 42 for Covishield, five for Covaxin and one for Sputnik. Health teams will also visit 171 areas to carry out door-to-door vaccination.
Meanwhile, 12 people tested positive on Friday, taking the caseload to 1,81,511, of which 63 are active.
