Guinness World Records: The Worlds “Highest Tea Party” Was Organised In The Most Unbelievable Place; Watch Video

Tea is fun when there’s a hint of chill in the air, like during or immediately after rainfall. In freezing weather, the beverage is more of a necessity. But a group of mountaineers in Nepal found a way to make drinking tea at 6,496 metres appear fun and an occasion to celebrate. And their adventure-laced tea party has made it to the Guinness World Records for holding the “highest tea party” at Mount Everest Camp 2. The records keeper shared a video of the party on its Instagram account and the climbers appeared to enjoy the little warmth the tea offered them amid snowfall.

The video showed a climber setting up a table with cups and snacks as a group of climbers then gathered around it. One of them began pouring tea into the cups and all the climbers relished the popular beverage in the freezing weather. Surely, the warmth in hand gives an opportunity to warm one’s heart and lift one’s spirit.

Andrew Hughes, who hosted the tea party, told Guinness World Records that tea on the mountain was not just about warmth. It was also a way of bringing climbers together and letting them connect with each other at the lodges along the trek and at base camps.

Tea is an exceptional way to remain hydrated and avoid hypothermia in freezing weather. It can also reduce stress and boost immune systems — something climbers can definitely benefit from.

Andrew carried out a lot of research into what key components must be included for a tea party at the mountain. He had to take into account the durability of the components.

“The record would mean so much to me because it would mean so much to all who took part in it. The greatest things in life are often those shared,” he said.

Tea is a delightful drink, whether cold or scorching hot, especially when you wish to take advantage of its health benefits. If you are a tea lover, you can make an aromatic brew using honey, lemon, and ginger. You can also use ginger to make ginger-mulethi tea, which is an immunity booster and can help deal with colds and coughs.

Some of the other types of teas that you can opt for are the commonly available and popular green tea, the super-expensive white tea, the strongly-flavoured black tea, which is very popular across the world, and the delight from China, Puerh tea.

White tea has a lot of antioxidants and may have anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidant properties. Green tea, for example, has been shown to protect against cancers of the breast, colon, ovary, throat, lung, stomach, and prostate.

When it comes to black tea, there is mounting evidence that the antioxidants in it may help to minimise artery blockages, particularly in women, and may also help to reduce the risk of heart attacks.

Due to its effect on lowering cholesterol and inflammation, Puerh tea has been known to reduce severe heart diseases.
