Google Pixel 8 price, launch timing, new fingerprint sensor tipped
According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Google Pixel 8 is expected to be unveiled in early October, following the brand’s usual launch cycle. The phone might cost US $649 or $699. This is a slight price hike in its home country compared to what the last year’s base model retailed at.
Google Pixel 7 was priced at US $599 for the 128GB variant at launch, with 256GB variant setting you back at US $699. The Google Pixel 8 is expected to feature substantial performance improvements, better camera, and display specs, but that’s not all. The series might now come with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which should solve a major complain that was seen with the previous gen devices.

There are no leaks regarding the pricing of the phone’s older sibling yet, the Pixel 8 Pro. To give you some context, the last-gen Pixel 7 Pro started at US $899 and the successor could see a similar price hike with the phone costing around US $999. It remains to be seen if these devices will be able to justify paying more for them to the consumers. The phones are also expected to be available in more regions this time around.
