Google has finally unwrapped its latest Pixel devices — Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro– globally. Interestingly, this is the first flagship Pixel series smartphone to arrive in India after Google Pixel 3XL. The latest Pixel smartphones come with an all-new Tensor G2 chipset, a new and improved rear camera setup along with a couple of new camera-centric features like Photo unblur, High Res Zoom and more. While similarities are there between the two siblings, they are also different in their own ways. For instance, the vanilla version comes with a dual rear camera instead of a triple camera setup on the Pro model, the display is a little bigger and better on the Pro model and so on.
Stating the obvious, both phones also differ in terms of pricing. The Pixel 7 is priced at Rs 59,999, while the Pixel 7 Pro costs Rs 84,999. That means, there’s a price difference of Rs 25,000 between the two phones. The question here is what extra the Pixel 7 Pro model brings to the table for an additional amount of Rs 25,000. Let’s find out.
Pixel 7 vs Pixel 7 Pro: Design and display
In terms of design, both Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are the same, except for the fact that Pixel 7 has a smaller overall footprint compared to the Pro version. Other design differences include a dual rear camera setup, slightly thicker bezels and one colour option. The Pixel 7 comes in Lemongrass colour, while the Pixel 7 Pro comes in Hazel colour. The other two — Obsidian and Snow — colour options are common for both handsets.
The Pixel 7 Pro s also a little thicker and heavier compared to the Pixel 7. It is also a little wider than the regular model.
While the design remains more or less the same, both handsets actually come with different displays starting with the display size. The pixel 7 features a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the Pixel 7 Pro boasts a bigger 6.7-inch pOLED display with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate support. Also, the peak brightness level of the Pixel 7 is 1400 nits and the Pixel 7 Pro is 1500 nits.
Pixel 7 vs Pixel 7 Pro: Performance
Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are powered by exactly the same chipset — Tensor G2. The new Tensor chip is manufactured on a new 4nm process and it comes with two Arm Cortex-X1 CPU cores, two Cortex-A76 CPU cores and four Cortex-A55 CPU cores for better efficiency. However, the Pixel 7 only comes with 8GB RAM and the 7 Pro has 12GB RAM. That’s it, both the handsets come with 128GB storage in India and also include a Titan M2 chip.

Pixel 7 vs Pixel 7 Pro: Camera
Talking about the optics, there are both similarities and dissimilarities between the two phones. For starts, the Pixel 7 is equipped with a dual rear camera setup of 50MP + 12MP, while the Pixel 7 Pro features a triple camera setup of 50MP + 48MP + 12MP.
The primary sensor remains the same and so are the features like High Res Zoom, photo unblur, etc. Also, the 12MP ultra wide doubles up as the macro lens on both handsets. The only advantage, the Pixel 7 Pro has is the addition of a 48MP telephoto lens. Also, both phones come with a 10.8MP sensor at the front.
Pixel 7 vs Pixel 7 Pro: Battery
Being a bigger handset, the Pixel 7 Pro packs a bigger 5000mAh battery compared to the 4335mAh on Pixel 7. That’s it, both phones support 30W fast charging and do not come with a charger in the box.
