Google Pixel 7 Pro pre-orders to start from October 6th: launch date, specifications

0

Google is set to launch its Pixel 7 series during the ‘Made by Google’ event on October 6th. Ahead of the event, Google has now announced that the Pixel 7 Pro will go on pre-orders on October 6th itself.

In an ad posted on the official ‘Made by Google’ YouTube channel, Google teases the smartphone to some “Pixel owners” as they are given an exclusive first look on the smartphone. The ad shows people from across the world checking out the Pixel 7 Pro and their first impressions on holding the new smartphone in their hand. In the video, the Pixel 7 Pro is blurred in people’s hands, but towards the end, the Pixel 7 Pro is revealed, with the subtitle reading “Pre-oders starting October 6, 2022.”

Now, the ad only shows the Pixel 7 Pro, and not the Pixel 7, as some people in the video have called the smartphone. The ad confirms that the Pixel 7 Pro will go on pre-orders on the same day as the launch event. While the ad only mentions the Pixel 7 Pro, it is likely that the Pixel 7 will also go on pre-orders at the same time. While pre-orders have been confirmed, we still don’t know when the Pixel 7 series will hit the market.

Will the Google Pixel 7 Pro launch in India?

Google does not generally launch its premium Pixel smartphones in India, but brings the A-series mid-range Pixel devices to the country. While earlier rumours have hinted that with the Pixel 7 series, the Pixel may make a comeback to the Indian market, but we have not heard any confirmations yet. Google usually announces the regions its new Pixel smartphones will come to before the launch, so we expect that announcement also in the next few days.

‘Made By Google’ event: What to expect

The Google Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and the Google Pixel Watch will be launched during the ‘Made by Google’ event that will be held on October 7th. The Google Pixel Watch will be the first smartwatch from the Mountain View, California-based giant and it will come with a circular dial, as we have seen in teaser images. The Google Pixel Watch is said to come with an OLED dsiplay, and a Samsung Exynos chipset and will run on Google’s WearOS.

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, on the other hand, will come with the second-generation Google Tensor chip named the Tensor G2. Teaser images from Google also show that the Pixel 7 Pro will come with a triple rear camera, while the Pixel 7 will have a dual rear camera setup, similar to the predecessors.

Google Pixel 7 Pro specifications (rumoured)

The Google Pixel 7 Pro was recently spotted in a benchmark listing on Geekbench, which hinted at some of the smartphone’s specifications. Apart from the Tensor G2 chip, the Pixel 7 Pro has been hinted to come with up to 12GB of RAM, and will use a “Cheetah” processor, the Geekbench listing hinted. The benchmark listing also hinted at the GPU specs of the Pixel 7 Pro, along with the smartphone’s single-core and multi-core benchmark scores.
