Google One VPN is now available for iPhone and iPad users – Times of India
Google introduced VPN for its Google One subscription in late 2020. The service till date was available for Android users only. But now it has come to iOS devices as well. The update was shared by the company via a blog post.
In the post, Google said that VPN on iOS will be available to Google One members on premium plans. Members will also be able to share their plan and the VPN with up to five family members without any additional charge.
“Today, we’re beginning to roll out the VPN to iOS devices. Similar to Android, the VPN will be available to Google One members on Premium plans (2 TB and higher) through the Google One app on iOS. Plus, members can share their plan and the VPN with up to five family members at no extra cost, so they can all use the VPN, no matter whether they’re using an Android or iOS phone,” the post reads.
Google recently expanded the VPN in 10 more countries. These are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. Google says that it will expand the service to more countries over time.
As mentioned above, Google brought VPN for Google One subscription in 2020. It provides additional Drive/Photos storage, extended support, and other perk to the members. It is said to be equipped with advanced in-built security to help ensure no one uses the VPN to tie user’s online activity to their identity.
Recently, Google added new features to VPN for Android. These include safe disconnect, app bypass and snooze. Safe disconnect allows one to use the internet when the VPN is activated. App bypass, on the other hand, allows specific apps to use a standard connection instead of the VPN. While the snooze feature temporarily turns off the VPN.
