Google may add a new screen time widget for Android phones: Report – Times of India

Android smartphones may soon get a screen time widget. 9to5Google has spotted the new shortcut in beta version 1.0.416751293 of Digital Wellbeing. The widget will reportedly show the time spent by users on their phones along with the top three apps used.
The report also shares screenshots of the upcoming screen time widget. Screen time is shown at the top followed by top apps being used. Time as per apps is distributed in proportionally sized circles, conforming to the Dynamic Color theme on Android operating system.

Size-wise, the widget can be compact at 2×2 or 2×1. It can also be expanded for a bigger view. When bigger, the most used application is placed at the bottom, instead of the top.
As per the report, the screen time widget will be available to all Android users. It will not be exclusive to Pixel users only. There is no expected launch timeline of the new widget.
Screen time widget is already available for iPhone users. The widget displays information from the user’s Screen Time summary. You can use Screen Time to get information about how you and your family members spend time on your devices—which apps and websites you use, how often you pick up your device, and more. You can use this information to help you make decisions about managing the time you spend on devices. You can also schedule time away from your screen, set time limits for app use, and more.
