Google is making paginated mode default for Docs – Times of India
According to the report, Google Docs, going forward, will start showing pages and page breaks on the web when users first open a document. The new change, as per the report, is aimed at making the Docs experience similar across different platforms — web and mobile — in this case.
It is important to note that the paginated mode only works when a document is set to pageless format. This means users will only be able to see pages and page breaks in pageless format.
The new changes will make things much better for Docs users on tablets and other big-screen devices. However, the company hasn’t specified anything so it is expected that the change is coming to both mobile and tablet screens.
The new paginated default in Google Docs for Android is now rolling out to all users gradually.
Google has optimised Drive app for foldable devices
Google is working towards optimising its apps and services to work better on foldable devices. The company has now updated the Google Drive Android app. As a part of the update, users will now see that controls within the item preview viewer will intelligently respond to what position the foldable device is in (opened, closed, or only partially opened) and adjust accordingly.
Meanwhile, Google has recently announced its Pixel Fold smartphone powered by Tensor G2 chipset and an improved foldable mechanism. Along with that, the company has also offered a pretty capable camera setup on the device.
