According to a report by The Financial Times, Yaccarino is working on a number of measures, including building new partnerships, introducing a video ads service and pursuing more celebrities among other tasks.
Citing three people familiar with the situation, the publication reported that Yaccarino, who joined the company on June 5, is reportedly planning to introduce full-screen, sound-on video ads that will be shown to users while they are scrolling through Twitter’s new short-video feed.Talks with Salesforce, Amazon
Along with Alphabet-owned Google, Twitter is also said to be renegotiating multiple contracts with companies including Amazon, Salesforce and IBM into single broader partnerships.
Earlier this month, Musk and CEO Yaccarino in an investor presentation said that the social media company is now planning to focus on videos, creator and commerce partnerships to bolster the company’s business.
One of the slides said that vertical video accounted for more than 10% of time spent on Twitter. Musk had also announced that a Twitter video app for smart TVs was also coming. While replying to a person who said that he would like to watch an hour-long video on smart TV and not on Twitter app, Musk replied, “It’s coming”.
Twitter recently announced that it has increased the character limit to compose tweets to 25,000. Previously, the company increase the character limit to 10,000 in April from 4,000.
