Google: Google will show users details about ads on YouTube, Search – Times of India
Google said that it wants to keep users in control of the ads they see on its platforms. “We know how important it is for you to learn more about the ads you see online. More than 30 million people interact with Google’s ads transparency and control menus every day,” the company said
It added that the new Ads Transparency Center will start rolling out to users globally over the coming weeks
What is Ads Transparency Center
Ads Transparency Center is a “searchable hub” that contains a list of ads from verified advertisers. With the Ads Transparency Center, users will be able to understand the ads an advertiser has run, which ads were shown in a certain region, the last date an ad ran, and the format of the ad.
Why need Ads Transparency Center
For example, you have seen a jewelry ad while you are surfing on the internet. You find the product displayed in the ad interesting but you don’t recognise the brand and are curious to know about the brand. With the Ads Transparency Center, you can look up the advertiser and learn more about them before purchasing or even visiting the website.
How to access Ads Transparency Center
Last year, Google launched My Ad Center globally that enables users to control the ads they see on Search, YouTube and Discover directly from the ads themselves. Users can access the Ads Transparency Center directly, or by visiting My Ad Center through the three-dot menu next to the ads.
A menu will appear that will include information on whether or not the advertiser is a verified business, and users can also like an ad, block an ad or report a bad ad. Users can also customise ad experience.
