As announced by Google via a blog post, users will now see a right-click menu to view the recipient’s full name along with their email address. They can also edit the contact names, copy addresses and open a recipient’s information card from the menu.
Google has also added avatar chips for recipients and new indicators when adding a user outside your organization and contacts. Gmail users will also get new visual indicators in case they have already added a user as a recipient.
With these new improvements, users will be able to view a recipient’s entire email address and edit if needed. They can also copy an email address and access a user’s information card. The recipient’s information cards can also be accessed by hovering over recipient chips, or selecting and using the keyboard shortcut Alt/Option + →.

These improvements can be seen when a user interacts with the “To”, “Cc”, and “Bcc” fields. Google says that “these improvements will help users connect with their colleagues and stakeholders quickly and with confidence”.
Improving email and formatting validation
Gmail will now validate that the email addresses are typed in the correct email format to prevent errors. The validation will also prevent any strings from becoming recipient chips if they are not formatted correctly.
In case a user adds an invalidly formatted email address in the address bars, Gmail will show an error message prompting them to fix the error before sending.
In its blog post, Google says that the improvements may impact those with Chrome extensions using the current compose interface. Admins that maintain Chrome extensions that depend on the current Gmail UI, around recipient search, selection or authoring, should check their integrations against the updated UI.
