Gmail app is gettings this ‘much-needed’ redesign for iOS – Times of India
Gmail app has undergone several redesign and updates on Android and iOS. However, one thing that never changed is the rather complicated and confusing Gmail Settings. That’s finally changing as Google has started rolling out a redesigned Gmail Settings on iOS and as per the reports, and the new design is also expected to arrive on Android soon, according to the 9to5Google report.
What’s new with Gmail Settings on iOS
If you remember, Gmail Settings on mobile devices opens from the hamburger menu and not the avatar at the top right corner of the screen, which shows two options — General Settings and all the accounts that are linked to the app or the device.
The General Settings include all the app-level settings like theme, mail swipe actions, etc. While everything else is tucked within the account option. The account settings option is further divided into a long list of sub-menus like Inbox, Meet, Nudges, Notifications, etc.
With the updated design on iOS, Google has removed the General Settings option. The Settings page now includes direct options like Chats, Meet, Notifications, etc. Also, the boring black and white theme for the Settings menu has been replaced with colourful icons and the background of the Settings page has been revamped to match the theme of the operating system.
The Gmail app with redesigned Settings is rolling out with the latest version (6.0.221002) of the app and it is also expected to arrive on the Android version soon. However, the timeline for the same isn’t available
