Mumbai: Fortis Hospital Mulund announced the launch of the ‘NEST’ today. It comes in addition to the hospital’s existing infrastructure. NEST, a new floor especially curated for mothers-to-be and newborns, is 29-bedded and was inaugurated by Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD & CEO, Fortis Healthcare; Dr S. Narayani, Business Head, Fortis Hospitals, Maharashtra; and author and fitness enthusiast Mandira Bedi.

The hospital chain calls it a specially designed birthing environment that would address all aspects of birthing, including health screenings, the latest in obstetrics, including top-of-the-line labour suites, pre and postpartum care, management of high-risk pregnancies, extreme preterm deliveries, and neonatal and paediatric care set-ups.

With the launch of the ‘NEST’ the hospital is emphasising giving a memorable care experience for mothers-to-be, new moms, and their newborns. Dr S Narayani, Business Head, Fortis Hospitals, Maharashtra, said, “The ‘NEST’ is an initiative to provide a more personalised and holistic birthing experience. The floor features several amenities and services designed to make the birthing experience comfortable and convenient. The mothers-to-be would be under the care of specialised OBGYN, paediatricians, neonatologists, and nurse practitioners round the clock, offering advanced care for the mother and her baby. We are proud to have built a space where mothers can feel supported, cared for, and empowered to take on the challenges of motherhood”.The ‘NEST’ floor has been designed as per the hospital, offering a simple and harmonious design curated on the concept of ‘healing architecture’. Focusing on design, natural light (to aid the body’s healing processes), colour (to stimulate positivity), and views of nature (to promote warmth and peace), the biophilic design of the floor provides a sense of calm while promoting a sense of wellbeing, Fortis Hospital Mulund informed in a statement.
