NAIA Football FirstDown Playbook Top 25 Preseason Poll
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Five Mid-South Conference football teams are ranked in the NAIA Football FirstDown Playbook Top 25 Preseason Poll, the NAIA announced on Monday.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) sits atop the poll with 418 points and all 18 first-place votes. Last season the Blue Raiders went 11-0 and defeated Northwestern (Iowa) 45-13 to capture their first NAIA Football Championship.
Keiser (Fla.) begins the 2021 season ranked fourth. The Seahawks garnered 366 points and went 9-1 last season reaching the semifinals of the NAIA Football Championship Series.
Reinhardt (Ga.) is the third MSC team in the top 10 of the poll. The Eagles are slotted eighth after earning 310 voting points. Reinhardt reached the quarterfinals of the NAIA Football Championship Series a year ago.
Georgetown earned 220 points in the poll and sits 13th. The Tigers went 6-2 last season and made an appearance in the first round of the NAIA Football Championship Series.
Southeastern rounds out the MSC teams in the poll. The Fire garnered 53 points and went 5-1 in 2020.
Northwestern sits in second with 402 points while Morningside (Iowa) is third with 386.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
The first regular season poll is scheduled to come out on Monday, September 13
