Google-owned Fitbit has announced that their latest fitness tracker Fitbit Charge 5 will now be available in India at Rs 14,999. According to the company, the fitness wearable can track more than 500 workouts, nutrition and mindfulness sessions. It also gets various health and fitness tracking features such as sleep, heart health, stress and many others.
With an 1.4-inch AMOLED touch sensitive colour display, Charge 5 is the company’s first tracker with an always-on display option. The display is also two-times brighter than its predecessor. Made with aluminium, glass and resin, the tracker doesn’t have any buttons. The device will be available at the company’s website and it will come bundled with 6-months of complimentary Fitbit premium membership. The company has also announced that the devices will soon get ECG capability. At first, the new feature will be rolled out in selected countries.
The company will also add Daily Readiness feature to Charge 5, as well as Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2, Luxe and Inspire 2 devices, which helps users to understand if the body is ready for a workout or if the user should prioritise recovery instead. Each morning, the user will receive a score based on your fitness fatigue, heart rate variability and recent sleep.
Apart from this, the company also announced new updates that will be available for Fitbit premium users. The company has partnered with Calm that will allow Fitbit premium members to access 30 curated pieces of sleep and stress-reducing content curated by Calm. The users will also be able to get guided sessions by Calm.
Fitbit will also roll out features such as Snore and Noise Detect for Sense and Versa 3 smart wearables. This feature will allow users to understand their sleeping environments. The microphone on the wearable will analyse sound every few seconds to help monitor snoring and ambient noise levels while sleeping. The company claims that the analysis will allow users to discover the reason for their sleep getting disrupted.
