Emerging Asia Cup: India A bank on all-round strength against tricky Bangladesh A in semi-final clash | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: India A has been in dominant form throughout the league phase of the Emerging Asia Cup, making them the favorites to secure a spot in the final as they face Bangladesh A in the semifinal in Colombo on Friday.
What sets India’s performance apart is their ability to find multiple heroes stepping up in crucial moments. In the tournament opener against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), pacer Harshit Rana (4/41) and captain Yash Dhull (108) were the standout performers as India secured an eight-wicket victory.
The next match against Nepal saw left-arm spinner Nishant Sindhu (4/14) shine with the ball while openers B Sai Sudarshan (58) and Abhishek Sharma (87) delivered an outstanding partnership, leading India to a comprehensive nine-wicket win. All-rounder Rajvardhan Hangarkekar, the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with eight wickets, also contributed with three wickets in that match.
In a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan, India continued their impressive form and registered an eight-wicket victory. Hangarkekar once again played a crucial role with five wickets (5/42), while Sai Sudarshan (104) showcased his batting prowess with a remarkable century. Nikin Jose (53) and left-arm spinner Manav Suthar (3/36) played vital supporting roles in ensuring India’s success.

With such a well-rounded and talented team, India are set to take on a challenging and competitive Bangladesh side, hoping to replicate their all-round performances and secure a place in the final of the Emerging Asia Cup.
The encounter promises to be a thrilling showdown as India aim to continue their undefeated streak and emerge victorious in the semifinal match.
However, Bangladesh are no mere pushovers.
After a defeat against Sri Lanka in the tournament opener, Bangladesh showed presence of mind to beat Oman and Afghanistan to reach the last four stage.
Tanzid Hasan and Mahmudul Hasan spearheaded their batting making 128 and 111 runs respectively, while pacer Tanzim Sakib led their bowling taking seven wickets.
Bangladesh will hope that the experienced Soumya Sarkar can make an impact against India.
India will also have an eye on the first semifinal in which Pakistan take on hosts Sri Lanka.
Semifinals (Friday):
Sri Lanka A vs Pakistan A, 10 AM IST
India A vs Bangladesh A, 2 PM IST.
