Elli AvrRam on a decade in India: At times I was too scared to listen to my own heart, instead listened to people’s opinions

Elli AvrRam moved to Mumbai in 2012 on a tourist visa with a dream of making a mark in Bollywood. Having now completed a decade in India, the actor says her journey has been a special one.

“I’m so grateful for everything I’ve got to experience during these 10 years of mine in India, because it’s made me who I am today. I’ve learnt so much, and achieved more than what I first thought was possible for me. Today I’ve truly understood that anything is possible in life, if you keep a strong belief in yourself and work hard towards it,” says the actor, who made her acting debut with Mickey Virus in 2013.

Ask if there is anything that she would have done differently in her career, and she says, “The only thing I would have done different is, those few times where I was too scared to listen to my own heart, thinking it’s wrong, and instead I listened to others’ opinions.”

However, she is quick to add, “Having said that, maybe those experiences where needed for me, to once again learn, that your heart is your right way through life.”

In these 10 years , AvrRam has done Hindi and regional films, television as well as web projects. She recently branched out into singing as well with Avina Shah for the Women’s Day special single Kudi Main Mean.

“I haven’t turned singer, I’ve just decided to explore this side of mine, since I’ve always loved singing from my childhood. And because of my singer friend Avina Shah, I’m finally expressing this side of mine,” she explains.

Having spent a decade in this country, the 31-year-old is now looking forward to the next one starting with 2022. “I have Ganapath, Goodbye and two more movies I’m yet to announce, and I’m extremely grateful and happy to have these wonderful movies in my hand. Looking forward to see my fans reactions when they see all my new avatars,” she ends.
