Did You Know? Dia Mirza Carries Her Own Steel Glass For Zero Waste Travel

Though the entire anti-plastic and go-green campaign has taken over the globe, it looks like we cannot do away with our daily dependence on plastic glasses, plates, containers or bags. Did you know while consuming water in a plastic glass or bottle or eating from a plastic plate or container – you also eat plastic? According to a research in  The Journal of Food Science, humans ingest at least 74,000 particles of microplastic a year. Therefore, nutritionists and health experts suggest not eating or drinking from plastic utensils. 

Recently, Dia Mirza in her Instagram Stories also talked about how there is more than one way to beat plastic pollution. The actress suggests carrying “your own glass.” Sharing a picture of a steel glass from inside of her flight, Dia wrote, “There is more than way to #beatplasticpollution. Carry your own glass. Avoid #singleuseplastic #zerowastetravel.” Take a look:

A few days ago, the actress shared a post on “plastic pollution is preventable.” As per Dia Mirza, the best way to tackle plastic pollution is to prevent it in the first place. For the sake of future generations, she said that “we must reduce, reuse, rethink, and redesigner to #beatplasticpollution.”
