Did Lee Jung Jae help T.O.P with Squid Game 2 casting? Actor’s agency reacts
Earlier in the day, Netflix announced new actors who will be a part of Squid Game 2 and T.O.P was on the list. T.O.P, also known by his legal name Choi Seung Hyun, will be making his acting comeback with Squid Game 2. Amid this, reports surfaced that actor Lee Jung Jae might have played a crucial role to secure T.O.P’s name in the list. Lee Jung Jae’s agency has now responded to the claims. T.O.P joins Squid Game 2
T.O.P is a former Big Bang member. He shares a close bond with Lee Jung Jae and are seen attending events together. Soon after the news of Choi Seung Hyun joining the Squid Game 2 cast surfaced, a report by Dispatch claimed that Lee Jung Jae is trying to ‘save’ his friend with the show. It also added that the actor has tried to help T.O.P with projects in the past, however, nothing has worked out until now.

Responding to the reports, Lee Jung Jae’s agency Artist Company issued a statement. As per Soompi, it read, “We would like to express our position regarding the reports about actor Lee Jung Jae’s involvement in the casting of Squid Game 2.
“Some of the reports that claim actor Lee Jung Jae was involved in the casting of Squid Game 2 are not true. The casting of a project is the authority of the director and the production company. In particular, actor Lee Jung Jae understands more than anyone that due to the great interest in Squid Game 2, many actors work hard to make an appearance, and [the cast members] are decided through audition.
“Accordingly, we would like to reiterate that it is not true that actor Lee Jung Jae was involved in the casting of Squid Game 2,” it concluded.

On Thursday, Netflix added actors Park Gyu Young (of Sweet Home), Jo Yu Ri, Kang Ae Sim (of Be Melodramatic, Move to Heaven), Lee David (of The Fortress), Lee Jin Uk (of Sweet Home), Choi Seung Hyun aka T.O.P (of Tazza: The Hidden Card, Commitment), Roh Jae Won (of Missing Yoon, Ditto), and Won Ji An (of D.P.). Lee Jung Jae will return in Squid Game: The Challenge which will release in November 2023.
