Texas teenager Zachry Bailey was arrested after allegedly claiming to be a traveling physician assistant (PA) and getting access to two Corpus Christi hospitals for nearly a month. Michigan-based Covenant Healthcare System and two doctors paid more than $69 million in three settlements relating to allegations of improper financial relationships with doctors and a physician-owned investment group, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). The settlement was finalized in 2021 but remained under seal while DOJ investigated and ultimately reached settlements with the two physicians, a neurosurgeon, and an electrophysiologist, who each paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to resolve the claims.
