“It was a matter of great satisfaction that MCD has undertaken to launch a programme that symbolises the congruence of prime minister Narendra Modi’s two visionary and flagship schemes of Jan Aarogya — Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Digital India. The Hindu Rao Hospital has taken a huge step forward of implementing this ambitious project,” said Saxena.
Hindu Rao, MCD’s biggest hospital, has been facing financial problems with strikes by doctors and healthcare staff due to non-payment of salaries. Saxena said that he was aware of the issues and that he would leave no stone unturned to address and solve them in a time-bound manner. “I am committed to not only restoring its glory but taking it to newer heights as an exemplary centre of excellence in medical services and public healthcare. To achieve this goal,” added Saxena.
He appealed to the doctors, paramedics, technicians, and support staff to commit themselves as proactive stakeholders and adopt the establishment as their own
Saxena also said that his prime concern was pollution of all kinds, adding that it was the biggest public health challenge in Delhi.
