By India Today Web Desk: Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka said that his team has loads of positives to take away from the T20I series against India. On Saturday, January 7, the visitors lost the third T20I by 91 runs at SCA Stadium in Rajkot after getting bowled out for 137 in 16.4 overs.

Subsequently, Sri Lanka also lost the three-match T20I series 1-2. Sri Lanka had every chance of winning the Mumbai T20I that they lost by two runs, after which they drew the equalizer with an 18-run win at MCA Stadium. However, they were beaten black and blue in the series decider.

“Before coming here, I wasn’t in form. From the start of this series, I got in good form. Happy with my own performance. The way the boys fought in this series, lots of positives,” Shanaka was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation ceremony.

Shanaka bowled the last over in the Pune T20I, picked up two wickets for four runs and guided his team through to victory. However, that was the only over he bowled in the entire series. Shanaka said that it was due to a finger injury that he didn’t roll his arms over.

“I had a finger injury, that’s the reason I didn’t bowl in this series, but I’m looking forward to bowling in the ODIs,” he stated.

Shanaka also had words of praise for Suryakumar Yadav, who won the Player of the Match award in Rajkot after scoring an unbeaten 51-ball 112 with the help of seven fours and nine sixes.

“Wishing the Indian team well, especially Surya who was too good. In the field, I want to keep calm and let the boys learn. When I come to bat, it’s a different game,” he added.

The ODI series is scheduled to get underway on Tuesday, January 10 at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.
