2-0 Daiichi seeks forensic audit into transactions between Fortis and group cos

New Delhi: Daiichi Sankyo Thursday moved another application asking Delhi HC to appoint a forensic auditor to probe, analyse and audit all transactions between former Fortis Healthcare promoters – Malvinder and Shivinder Singh and their firms and Religare Group.

While seeking a forensic audit of transactions between the brothers and the Religare Group of companies – Religare Capital Market, Religare Capital Market International (Mauritius), Religare Enterprises, Religare Finvest and Religare Comtrade – Daiichi said the auditor so appointed should be asked to give its final report within 180 days and a retired HC judge should “oversee and supervise” the process.

Earlier, the Japanese company had sought a similar probe of transactions among FHL, Malaysia’s IHH Healthcare Berhad that bought a stake in Fortis Healthcare, and RHT Health Trust of Singapore that was floated by the Singh brothers to house their hospital assets. Daiichi wanted an investigation into any nexus between RHT and the Singhs and also an alleged clandestine transfer of ₹4,666 crore to RHT, as directed by the Supreme Court on September 22.
