Cumberlands Leads After Day One of MSC Women’s Golf Championship; Parrott Sits Atop Individual Leaderboard

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.) sits in first place after day one of the Mid-South Conference Women’s Golf Championship at Bowling Green Country Club.

The Patriots shot an 23-over par 311 in the opening round. Campbellsville (Ky.) is three shots behind Cumberlands with a 314. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) sits in third with a 316 while Cumberland (Tenn.) is fourth after shooting a 323.

Campbellsville’s Gracie Parrott  leads after 18 holes shooting a 3-under par 69. She carded five birdies in the first round which was tied for the most. Pikeville;s (Ky.) Boo Newsome is one shot behind with a 70. Newsome also totaled six birdies in the opening round.

Lindsey Wilson’s Megan Mann sits in third with a 2-over par 74. Cumberlands’ Carlee Shoemaker is fourth with a 75 while teammate Hannah Griffith and Campbellsville’s Abigail Coffey are tied for fifth.

Pikeville  sits in fifth with a 333, Georgetown (Ky.) is sixth with a 344 and Thomas More (Ky.) is seventh with a 366.

Shawnee State (Ohio) and Bethel (Tenn.) round out the team standings with a 397 and 407, respectively.

The second round of the MSC Women’s Golf Championship begins at 10 a.m. CT on Thursday at Bowling Green Country Club.
