Nashville hot chicken fans in Long Beach took to social media to share their excitement and desire for Crimson Coward to open a restaurant in Long Beach. The restaurant will be one of the few restaurants in Long Beach that serves halal chicken menu.
After construction and renovations, Crimson Coward opened the doors to their Long Beach location in April 2022. The fourth store is at 4217 E Willow Street, Long Beach, CA 90815.
The official opening was on May 21, 2022; highlights include a deluxe swag bag and free hot chicken sandwich giveaways. Ten lucky guests had a Golden Ticket added to their order. Each Golden Ticket was redeemable for a free year of food at Crimson Coward in Long Beach. Thank you to the community for a warm welcome.
Crimson Coward is a locally owned and operated restaurant bringing the authentic flavors of Nashville hot chicken to the larger Los Angeles and Long Beach areas. Restaurant owner Ali Hijazi took several trips to Nashville, TN, while developing the ultimate spice blend and Crimson Coward’s feature recipes.
The Crimson Rub and History
The proprietary Nashville hot chicken spice recipe is under lock and key. However, Hijazi shared it took exploring 120 spice variations until they found the one that would be The Crimson Rub.
The flagship Crimson Coward is in Downey, CA. It opened on April 20, 2019, with seating for 25 to 40 guests.
Menu
Crimson Coward’s menu offers Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwiches (The Crimson or Home Style) and Crimson Chicken (Tenders and Wings with five different heat levels). Plus, mainly plant-based sides, Mac and Cheese, Fried Pickles, Potato Salad, Crimson Fries, and Slaw.
Newer additions to the menu include The Crimson Onion and The Crimson Burrito, joining fan-favorite Joey Eat Fries on the Long Beach menu.
Hijazi is committed to serving freshly cooked Nashville hot chicken and premium signature sides featuring local ingredients. “It is a privilege to have been able to open our fourth restaurant in Long Beach. Providing us the opportunity to offer a high-quality, cooked-to-order local halal hot chicken destination in Long Beach, CA.” He shared, “We source our chicken (all-natural, non-GMO, and certified halal) from some of the most reputable farms. We also always cook to order, striving to deliver exceptional fresh flavors, quality, and excellent customer service to all of our guests.”

The Long Beach location is open for dine-in, take-out, and delivery, Monday – Sunday, 11 AM – 10 PM. Parking is also available.
Crimson Coward will open several new Southern California locations and launch nationwide by the end of 2022.
