Summertime is just around the corner and it just so happens to be a great time to incorporate dried cranberries into salads, frozen cranberries into smoothies, cranberry juice into refreshing cocktails and so much more. In an effort to promote an #AllAmeriCRAN summer, the Cranberry Marketing Committee (CMC) has compiled some of its best BBQ-friendly, beat-the-heat-worthy, relax-and-enjoy-the-great-outdoors-ready recipes into a handy-dandy Summer Recipe Booklet.
Cranberries are a nutrient-dense food, and contain essential vitamins and minerals, dietary fiber and other naturally occurring compounds that may have potential health benefits. Make the smart choice this summer by adding cranberries into your routine. Low-fat diets rich in fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of some types of cancer. Diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol, and as low as possible in trans fat, may reduce the risk of heart disease. Diets low in sodium may reduce the risk of high blood pressure. Cranberries are cholesterol and fat free, and very low in sodium. Cranberry juice is a good source of vitamin K and an excellent source of vitamins C and E.
CMC also encourages you to share your own favorite summer cranberry recipes on social media with the hashtag #AllAmeriCRAN and follow @USCranberries on social media all summer long.
