Cancer hosp to be set up at JNIMS: Biren – ET HealthWorld
Speaking at the 14th foundation day celebrations of the state-run institute held at its auditorium, he said the hospital would come up under the Public Private Partnership model. He added that the state government is urging the Union health ministry to increase the number of MBBS seats at JNIMS.
The state government is also continuously persuading the Centre to upgrade the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal to the level of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the CM said. The state has taken up various welfare initiatives, which primarily focus on the health and education sector for the well-being and welfare of people.
Under the recently introduced “Health for All” scheme, doctors, nurses and healthcare workers are providing doorstep check-ups and medicine delivery to different sections of the society. The CM appreciated the doctors, nurses, ASHA workers and paramedics for their priceless contribution towards saving precious lives during the first and second waves of the pandemic.
