Now, let’s have a look at where the phones differ from one another.
Motorola Razr 40 Ultra vs Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5: specs compared
Display: The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra features an AMOLED display with 1080 x 2640 pixels resolution and on the other hand for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 should also have the same feature and hence there shouldn’t be any difference here between these two phones.
Storage: Taking the storage into consideration, both the phones should have three variants based on that. As for the Motorola foldable, the variants are- 8GB RAM+256GB, 12GB RAM +256GB and 12GB RAM+512GB. On the other hand, for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 the variants are- 8GB RAM+128GB, 12GB RAM+256GB and 12GB RAM+512GB. So, here we see a major difference in the internal storage of the base models for both the phones.
Camera: Both the phones have dual rear cameras with slight differences. The Motorola phone has 12MP (wide) and 13MP (ultrawide) lenses. On the other hand, the Samsung phone has 12MP (wide) and 12MP (ultrawide), according to rumoured leaks. There could be a huge difference in the front cameras though. The Motorola foldable has a 32 MP front camera but for Samsung it could just be 10MP.
Chipset: The chipset of the two phones have certain differences. As for the Motorola phone, it is powered by the Qualcomm SM8475 Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and for the Samsung Flip5, it will be powered by Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. So, the Samsung phone has an upper hand here, if this is the chipset it confirms at launch in a few months.
Battery: The battery too has a difference, but not way too much. The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is packed with Li-Po 3800 mAh battery and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to pack a Li-Po 3700 mAh battery. But there is a difference between the charging support. The former comes with a 30W wired charger and 5W wireless charger whereas the later comes along with a 15W charger.
The specifications of the Samsung phone haven’t been confirmed as of yet. Also, if these are exactly the specifications then there isn’t much of a difference between the Samsung and Motorola foldables. While this is Motorola’s first foldable phone, Samsung will be coming out with its fifth-generation of foldable phones this year, which gives them an upper hand.
