BTS reacts after losing Grammy Award to Doja Cat: ‘It’s a fact that we’re not happy but…’

BTS members on Monday held a live session and interacted with fans after their performance at the Grammy Awards 2022. Taking to V Live, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook also reacted after they lost the best pop duo/group performance award, for their English single Butter, to Doja Cat and SZA. BTS performed their hit song Butter and was given a standing ovation at the Grammys. During the live, Jungkook said, as translated by Twitter user @seoulocello, “When they announced the best pop group/duo award, Yoongi hyung (brother)’s face was so nervous.” RM said, “It’s not like there’s anything we can do about (the results). I mean, honestly speaking, it’s a fact that we’re not happy. But I think it’s good to be honest about how we feel. We can just be sad for today and feel better tomorrow, it’s all good. We can blow off some steam by ourselves for today and feel better tomorrow.”

Jimin said, “We only practiced for one day as a whole group.” J-Hope added, “It was yesterday.” Jimin continued, “We practiced as a group yesterday and performed on stage today so I was really nervous.” Suga revealed, “I got really nervous. Among the recent concerts, this was the most nerve-racking.”

Jimin also said, “What I thought was impressive about the members is that we rehearsed the performance only once just yesterday. And we pulled it off like that today.” He also said, “Even if we didn’t get the award, we were able to try at the award once again because of our ARMYs, and it was honorable and meaningful to us. Towards ARMYs, I had this big thought in my mind, that we could repay ARMYs by receiving the award.. that’s why it was quite sad.” RM added, “We have no regrets, we gave our best.”

As Jungkook said, “Right, we’ll look at it as a precious experience”, Suga added, “It’s not something to be sad about, it’s an amazing thing.” V added, “I’m not sad!” Jin added, “Who said they’re sad?” Suga replied, “I felt a little sad so.. I’m trying self-hypnosis on myself.”

During the live, Suga recalled his reaction when the award was being announced, “When the award was being announced, I was like ‘Ah Jiminah let’s hug’.” The duo again laughed and hugged each other.

Speaking about the Grammy ceremony, Jungkook said, “We saw so many amazing performances.” Jimin added, “It was so meaningful for us!” V also said, “Honestly, we saw so many great performances, it really inspired us.”

The members were also seen discussing ARMY asking Suga to marry them. V said, “By the way, I’ve been thinking about this. Every time we do a V Live, there’s a comment asking to marry Suga-hyung.”

Jin added, “I’m telling you, I see ‘Suga marry me’ even in my solo V Lives!” Suga said, “There are comments like that about all of you, please.” Jimin teased Suga, “At this point, you should just give in and marry someone!”

Suga also pointed out that a person can actually do a drive-through wedding in Las Vegas regardless of gender or age. He added that a person can also cancel the marriage the next day if they change their mind.

RM joked, “So like if someone goes ‘Oh! actually think this was a mistake!’ then…” He made everyone laugh. Suga added, “Yeah, it really works like that. there are a lot of ppl who actually do this.”

BTS members are gearing up for their four in-person concerts in Las Vegas. The group will perform their show, Permission To Dance On Stage at the Allegiant Stadium on April 8, April 9, April 15, and April 16.
