British Airways Expands U.S. Routes for Summer | Business Travel News
British Airways will fly direct between 26 U.S. cities and London this summer, the carrier announced. Service started June 3 between London Heathrow and each Portland, Ore., and Pittsburgh, and service to San Jose, Calif., is set to resume June 13.
The carrier on June 6 also launched a new daily daytime flight from Newark to London Heathrow to support the return of business travel, according to British Airways. It departs at 7:55 a.m. and arrives in the evening in London. It is the carrier’s third daily flight between the cities.
The Portland route is new and will operate five times per week—Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday—with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. It is the only direct route to London from the city, according to British Airways. The carrier will offer codeshare connections from Portland through its Oneworld partner Alaska Airlines.
British Airways also is returning Airbus 380 aircraft service to more North American cities, including Chicago and Vancouver, which began last week, and Dallas-Fort Worth, beginning July 1. The aircraft offers First, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller cabins and has a total of 469 seats, according to the airline.
