Blaupunkt Audio to manufacture audio range in India in partnership with Fidelity – Times of India
Blaupunkt Audio, one of the leading German based consumer electronics brands, has announced Make in India manufacturing in partnership with Fidelity Electronics which is a unit of Channelplay Limited, one of India’s leading retail and distribution solutions company. Through this strategic step of shifting the production capacity to India, the brand is eyeing at acquiring 10% share of the country’s audio market.
India has emerged as one of the top markets for wearable and hearable as per the recent reports. Through this development, Blaupunkt Audio aims to double its capacity in comparison to its current output and manufacturing close to 1 million units over next year. Ahead of the festive season there are further steps being implemented towards meeting the market demands and achieving 100%+ percent growth of the sales.
Recently, Blaupunkt Audio added Made in India Soundbars and speakers namely SBA10, SBW200, SBA01 to its range.
Commenting on the development, Rohini Ahluwalia, director, sales and marketing Blaupunkt Audio said, “Our endeavor has been to position Blaupunkt Audio as the most preferred and aspired brand in the audio segment offering superiority in durability coupled with affordability. With this strategic move to shift the manufacturing capacity to India in collaboration with one of the most trusted partners Fidelity Electronics, we are trying to extend our support to the Government of India’s Make in India initiative. Also, we see a great potential in penetrating in the tier-3 and tier-4 cities and therefore are working towards enhancing the supply chain by expanding our distributorship network and ecommerce partnerships.”
