Biggest gainers & losers of the day: SH Kelkar hits upper circuit, HG Infra bleeds

0
New Delhi: Domestic equity markets settled lower on Tuesday, tracking a dull mood in the global markets as investors cautiously awaited the US inflation data. Selling pressure in private lenders also weighed on the market mood.

The 30-share pack Sensex shed 112 points or 0.19 per cent to close at 60,433. Its broader peer NSE Nifty gave up 24 points or 0.13 per cent to end at 18,044. Broader markets outperformed as the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained a per cent each.

Sectorally, auto, PSBs and consumer durables climbed against the market trend. While in stock-specific moves, SH Kelkar hit the upper circuit following a bulk deal on the counter while the party in Mangalam Organics shares continued. Vodafone Idea and Centum Electronics too buzzed ahead of their results. That said, shares of HG Infra bled in spite of doubling the Q2 profits.
