Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 confirmed to stream on JioCinema soon: see expected release date

A new season of the popular reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ has been confirmed. Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 will start streaming soon on JioCinema but the release date isn’t out yet. This time, the show will be hosted by Bollywood actor Salman Khan as seen in the promo ads showcased during the IPL 2023 finals. 

For those unaware, Big Boss OTT is different from the regular Bigg Boss as it’s a digital-only version of the main show. Just like the main show, Bigg Boss OTT also has a group of contestants who have to live together as their daily lives are recorded. There’s a winner in Bigg Boss OTT too who will receive the prize money and trophy. One major difference here is that Bigg Boss OTT streams live non-stop in addition to a one hour daily episode. Bigg Boss on the other hand has only one daily episode.

Bigg Boss OTT season 1 released in 2021 and was hosted by Karan Johar. It is available on Voot.

Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 release date (expected)

The release date for Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 is yet to be announced but it is speculated to start streaming on June 18th. There are also reports that suggest Bigg Boss OTT might be delayed by a week and the release could shift to June 26th instead. But with the teaser promo out, it should start streaming in the coming weeks. 

Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 cast (Expected)

The celebrity cast that will join Bigg Boss OTT is one that’s highly anticipated by the show’s fans. And as expected, there are rumours and speculations on who might join Bigg Boss OTT Season 2. Some of the expected names for Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 include Awez Darbar, Umar Riaz, Jiya Shankar, Munawar Faruqui, Anushka Sen and Pooja Gor. This is only a speculated list though as no official announcement has come from the show’s makers or the contestants. 

Bigg Boss Season 2 JioCinema

Bigg Boss and Bigg Boss OTT have been streaming on Voot so far but the upcoming season will be available on JioCinema. This makes sense since Voot and JioCinema are merging to form a unified streaming platform with the latter. Viacom18 has already announced the merger that is expected to get finalised anytime soon now that IPL is over. With the merger, Voot shows and movies will phase out and stream collectively on JioCinema. 

Viacom18 has been preparing JioCinema to become one of the top streaming services in India with the introduction of paid content and scoring major deals with Warner Bros. Discovery and most recently, NBCUniversal. It has already launched JioCinema Premium at Rs 999 per year for exclusive Hollywood content.
