While teaching remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lisa Vanoni sought out a way to relieve the stress from her job. With the support of her friends and family, she decided to begin writing, putting the stories that she always had floating around in her mind onto paper. The result is her new book, “Embraced by Love: Bachelor’s Club Book 1.”
Taking place in 1890, the book features The Bachelor’s Club, a group of men who love God, poker and their small town of Ravens Crest. Club member Ben Hammond is the Defense Attorney for the county of Ravens Crest and a devoted bachelor. He is confident he can handle everything life throws at him, until he meets Erin, the judge’s daughter.
“I wanted my book to be a good example of a Christian relationship,” Vanoni said. “I want to encourage others to have a relationship with God, and God-based relationships with others.”
Ben faces the challenge of working with Erin’s father and working on the hardest case of his career, all while trying to pursue a relationship with Erin. Erin is learning to put God first, while being thrust into the challenging business world after her mentor dies. Both must learn how to use their faith to overcome their personal challenges and to find love.
“Falling in love always has its challenges,” Vanoni said. “I want readers to see Ben and Erin’s relationship as an example of how love conquers all.”
Vanoni plans to release more books about the Bachelor’s Club in the future.
