ASUS Zenfone 9 India launch date tipped, may arrive as ASUS 9z

Now, it appears the brand might not repeat the same mistake with the Zenfone 9. According to YouTuber Sahil Karoul, ASUS might launch the Asus Zenfone 9 in India on August 23. It might debut in the county as ASUS 9z since it’s not allowed to use the Zenfone branding.

However, with the said date just a day away, there’s hardly any noise from ASUS. Not even a teaser. There are chances that ASUS might take the Pixel 6a’s silent approach and release it directly without an event.

Furthermore, the YouTuber claims the ASUS 9z price in India will be upwards of Rs 60,000, which is a bit steep considering the competition.

ASUS Zenfone 9 sports a 5.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2400 × 1080 pixels resolution, HDR10+, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 112 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, 1200nits peak brightness, and a Gorilla Glass Victus layer for protection. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 5G SoC paired with Adreno GPU. The chipset is paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, further expandable via a microSD card. 

The ASUS Zenfone 9 is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, 3.5mm audio jack, Qualcomm Aqstic WCD9380, stereo speakers, Qualcomm Aqstic amp (WSA8835), and Dirac audio. There is a 4,300mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, USB Type-C, USB Type-C port and NFC.

Moving to the optics, the ASUS Zenfone 9 features a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture, six-axis gimbal stabilisation, 2X2 OCL PDAF, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens that supports macro mode, dual PD autofocus, and f/2.2 aperture. There is a 12MP Sony IMX663 selfie snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.
