India have sent a much larger contingent this time around — 303 compared to 190 in Jakarta — and will hope to better their 2018 performance.

India had won a record 107 medals in the Asian Games that took place between 23 September and 8 October, the first time they crossed the 100-medal mark at the event, and will hope for something similar in the Para-Games.

The first-ever Asian para-games took place in Guangzhou 2010 and has taken place after every Asian Games ever since. India had won 14 medals in the inaugural edition, including one gold, but would put up an improved performance in Incheon 2014, where they won 33 medals including three gold.

After finishing 15th in the first two editions, India would break into the top-10 in Jakarta, finishing ninth with 72 medals. They will be aiming to break into the top five in Hangzhou this time.
