Arias, Achen voted Mid-South Conference Baseball Players of the Week

MSC Baseball Player of the Week

Sujel Arias – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Fr. – IF – San Cristobal, Dominican Republic

• Arias batted .500 (6-for-12) with two doubles, three walks and three RBIs in four games for the Patriots
• He singled, walked and scored twice against Mobile (Ala.) in the weekend opener and doubled in the first of two games against Midway (Ky.)
• The freshman was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored in the second meeting with Midway and added a single and one RBI in the second contest versus Mobile
• This marks the first weekly honor of the season and first of his career for Arias

MSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Cohen Achen – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – So. – Alberta, Canada

• Achen tossed 6.0 innings in a no-decision at William Carey (Miss.)
• The sophomore allowed one run on four hits with seven strikeouts against the Crusaders
• He gave up a leadoff double that turned into the only run in the first inning but retired 17 of the final 22 batter he faced
• This marks the first weekly honor of the season and second of his career for Achen
