Apple starts rolling out tvOS 16.6 update – Times of India

Along with the watchOS 9.6 update, Apple has also released tvOS 16.6 update for Apple TV users. This is the sixth important update of the tvOS 16 which the company rolled out last year in September. The new tvOS 16.6 update is available for all Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD users. The company has revealed that the update brings some minor bug fixes and security improvements to the Apple TV.

How to download tvOS 16.6 update
The Apple tvOS 16.6 update can be downloaded through the Settings app on your Apple TV by navigating to System > Software Update. If automatic software updates are enabled, your device will be automatically upgraded to tvOS 16.6 without any manual intervention.

Apple tvOS 17 public beta update
Earlier this month, Apple started rolling out the first public beta update for tvOS 17. Apple introduced the tvOS 17 at its annual developer conference in June this year. The Cupertino-based tech giant is said to roll out the stable version of the operating system later this year.
How to download tvOS 17 update
To download the tvOS 17 beta as a public beta tester, follow these steps:

  • Open the Settings app on your Apple TV.
  • Choose the System section.
  • Select Software Updates.
  • Toggle on the Get Public Beta Updates option.
  • Additionally, make sure to sign up on Apple’s public beta website.
