Apple rolls out new firmware update for AirPods Max, AirPods 2, AirPods 3 and original AirPods Pro – Times of India

Apple started rolling out a new firmware update for AirPods Pro 2nd-generation. Now, the company has extended the update to the entire AirPods lineup including AirPods 2, AirPods Pro 1st-generation, AirPods 3 andd AirPods Max.
New AirPods firmware: What’s new
The firmware update these AirPods are receiving carries the version 5B58 and it is now available for all the AirPods models mentioned above. Also, this is the same update that AirPods Pro 2 received earlier this month.
Apple has also dropped the release notes for the latest update and the only thing it mentions is “Bug fixes and other improvements”. This is nothing new for Apple as the company monthly give only this much about updates.
How to check the firmware version of AirPods
To check AirPods firmware version, Open Settings app on your iPhone and navigate to Bluetooth menu. Locate your AirPods and tap on the ‘i’ button placed next to it. Scroll down and look for the Firmware Version number option.
How to update AirPods
Apple does not allow users to manually update their AirPods. However, AirPods automatically gets updated as soon as the update is available. There’s no manually interference required for the process.
In addition to AirPods firmware updates, Apple has also started rolling out a new software update for AirTags. The update brings the AirTags firmware version to 2.0.24 with build number 2A24e. Unfortunately, Apple hasn’t revealed the release notes for the same as of now.
