Apple announced its plans for the Apple Pay‌ Later service at the WWDC event held in June. During the event, the Cupertino-based tech giant mentioned that the new service will be available with an iOS 16 update, but the company didn’t provide a specific timeline for the service being rolled out.
The company has officially released the new iOS 16 recently and has already pushed the iOS 16.2 version update for iPhone users. However, the company didn’t include the Apple Pay Later service even with the latest update.
Now, a new report claims that Apple has delayed the service till spring 2023 for “technical engineering challenges”.

What is Apple Pay Later
Selected customers in the US will be allowed to use the upcoming service to divide a purchase bill into four equal payments that can be paid over six weeks.
This service will be included with the Wallet app and will be available for making online and in-app payments on the iPhone and iPad. iOS 16 also updated the Wallet app with new features like tracking online orders and more.
Why Apple is delaying Pay Later
According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company is expected to release the Apple Pay Later service along with the iOS 16.4 update which is scheduled to release next year.

Gurman has also mentioned that Apple is not sure about when to release Apple Pay Later and this service is likely to face a delay which might be caused due to “technical and engineering challenges in rolling out the service”
In other news, reports also claim that Apple may not host an event in October. Earlier, the company was speculated to launch new iPads and MacBooks at this event.
