Apple may launch new AirPods Pro on September 7 – Times of India

They are wildly popular and are one of the most successful products from Apple. Yet, it’s been over three years since Apple gave them an upgrade. We are talking about the Apple AirPods Pro, which were last launched in 2019. Apple’s big September event is set to take place in two days and just before that a rumour has surfaced that the Apple AirPods Pro 2 may just arrive in tow with the iPhone 14 series lineup.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark German, Apple could unveil its most powerful true wireless earbuds at the Far out event. “I reported last year that new AirPods Pro would arrive in 2022, and now I’m told that Wednesday will be their big unveiling,” said Gurman in his weekly newsletter.

Apple AirPods Pro 2: What to expect

Since their launch, the AirPods Pro have only received software-related upgrades like support for Lossless audio or Apple’s Spatial Audio tech. Other brands like Sony, Jabra, Samsung, and Sennheiser have all launched upgraded — in some cases a lot — models of their premium true wireless earbuds. Apple’s new AirPods Pro could feature a new H2 chip for improved audio quality and could also improve the battery life.
There had been rumours about Apple changing the design of its flagship true wireless earbuds. However, several analysts have suggested that no design overhaul for AirPods Pro but it could be tweaked. Rumours about AirPods Pro getting a Type-C charging port were also quashed by noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The upcoming AirPods Pro are also expected to bring certain health and fitness-related sensors. How they will work is still not known but since it has been three years since the AirPods Pro saw an upgrade, Apple may have a few new features up its sleeve.
