People who know about this have stated that the device may be similar to an iPad, but not as expensive. It will come with a magnet to enable mounting, and will be targeted towards home use. The scope of functionality would also be limited when compared to an iPad. It would mainly support FaceTime and also help you control other smart devices.

It is also believed that Apple is working on updating the Apple TV. The device may come with a faster processor, however, it may not support 8K video.
