Apple iPhone 15 Series: Potential Launch Delay & Limited Availability Concerns in 2023 – Smartprix

Apple traditionally unveils its new iPhone models in September; however, this time there is a possibility of a slight postponement, with reports indicating that the iPhone 15 series launch may be shifted to October. Moreover, there are concerns about limited availability of certain models during their debut later this year. This is not unprecedented, as Apple has encountered launch delays in previous iPhone iterations.

Addressing the potential delay, MacRumors reported that Wamsi Mohan, a global securities analyst at Bank of America, suggested the launch could occur in the fourth quarter, likely between October and December. This speculation is based on channel checks within Apple’s supply chain, although no specific reasons for the delay were disclosed.

Another issue Apple is contending with is the restricted initial supply of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The report indicates that the challenge stems from efforts to introduce slimmer bezels in these models, necessitating a new display manufacturing process. Suppliers, notably LG Display, have encountered difficulties with this process, leading to constrained quantities of the aforementioned models. This predicament is reminiscent of the delays experienced during the Apple Watch Series 7’s display size increase.

Despite the potential issues, some sources suggest that Apple will proceed with its typical September launch schedule, albeit with limited units of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max available initially. These conflicting reports leave uncertainty regarding the exact timeline for the iPhone 15 series launch. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that the new iPhones will be introduced, at the latest, in October of this year.
