Apple: Apple reportedly hiring professionals to work on AI-powered products – Times of India
Due to the ongoing economic slowdown, tech companies have been forced to lay off employees. However, the growing popularity of generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT and Google Bard has resulted in an increased demand for professionals in this specific field. Now, an online report suggests that tech giant Apple is also looking for professionals for its machine learning and AI division.
According to a report by Pocket-lint, Apple has opened about 176 positions in the machine learning and AI departments. The Cupertino-based tech giant has allocated about 68 positions to work on Siri, 52 positions will focus on introducing AI into iOS and 46 positions will be dedicated to macOS.
“If you’re performing a clean search of the term “AI”, you’ll find 88 results. But when you search the job board for the term “generative”, with the team filters applied, that query surfaces 48 results,” mentioned the report.
The report reveals that the word “generative” appears in the job titles of eight postings:

Recently, in an interview with CNBC, Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke about the issue of layoffs and said that it isn’t something Apple is talking about. “I view that as a last resort and, so, mass layoffs is not something that we’re talking about at this moment,” Cook told CNBC. However, he didn’t say that Apple will never cut jobs as such but if it does then it would be a “last resort” move.
